Jeff joined Hughes Associates A&E in 1987 and has played an integral role in the development of the firm.

Since moving to Roanoke in 1972, Jeff has delved into the industry and Southwest Virginia culture alike. He served as the President of Hughes Associates for 11 years, Vice President of AIA Virginia, Past President of AIA Blue Ridge, Past Director of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, and served multiple terms on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of the Roanoke Valley.

During the week, Jeff works alongside our clients and has a particular skill working on consensus building among building committees. Of the 340+ church and municipal projects completed by Hughes Associates A&E, Jeff has had a hand in nearly all of them.

Outside of work, Jeff enjoys sending time with his family where they yardwork gardens and landscape flowers. He continues to pursue his long-time interest in the restoration of houses and cars, to include a 1960 Austin Healey ‘Bugeye’ Sprite.

Jeff earned his Associates in Civil Engineering from Erie County Community College, sparking his interest and leading him to study Architecture at Ohio University where he graduated in 1970. Jeff is originally from Buffalo, New York and recommends everyone snow ski Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid at least once in their lifetime.
