Safford Residence

This Private Resident moved to Roanoke in 2015 and purchased a wonderful old home in need of modernizing. Built in 1906 and registered as historic, the Owner wanted to maintain the home’s character and overall aesthetic, which included updating the amenities but preserving the trim.

The first phase was to renovate a dated kitchen and family area. With four children and three dogs, the family wanted lots of space for storage, eating, and relaxing. The design included a new entry into the kitchen and allowed for more cabinetry, counter space, and kubbies. All new cabinetry, pantry, and eat-in banquette was added.

The second phase involved transforming the existing two-room master bath. The master bath was renovated to include a new walk-in shower and soaking tub. Beautiful marble tiles were chosen to keep with the age of the home.
